IVY Apts - Security Tips & Rules

Crime & people being drugged up 200% this year!
Medellin is normally a safe city, but there has been a 200% increase in petty crime & drugging’s from dating sites or meeting people at clubs. If it seems too easy, then that’s a warning.
Some tips to make your stay safe.
Credit Card purchases: Never give your card to a waiter. Ask them to bring modem to your table or take your card to the cashier & watch them so they don't duplicate your card.
When walking, always walk against traffic. Most robberies occur from behind.
When using ur cell on street, step away from street before taking out your cell.
Always use Uber or Indriver instead of taxis.

Druggings occur when someone puts a powder in ur drink or food when you go to bathroom. Always keep your drink near you, including when going to bathroom.
When meeting a new person, add them to facebook or Instagram. If they don’t have either, that could be a warning sign.
Your date wears a baseball cap to cover their face from camaras or comes with a backpack.
Your date is ok coming to your apt on 1st or 2nd date.
Your date asks if she can bring her friend.
IVY is a place to Work, Relax & Be Well
Many people at IVY work from their apts or are sensitive to noise. Because of this, we have rules to help reduce noise to insure everyone is happy. Please be considerate with talk levels, phone calls, TV & music levels. People with deep voices, please talk softer, use headsets for calls or shut windows when needed.
RULES
No smoking in apt, nor balcony. Smoking OK on rooftop & ashtrays provided
No Drugs, No Pot & No cigars in IVY. There is a park behind building which you can smoke.
No girls that look like hookers or different girls over each night as this is a security risk.
Ok to have your GF or the same girl over multiple nights.
No loud music, No parties & Max 4 people allowed in the apt.
No children under 12 years old because of our balconies
Deliveries in building
9am-6pm - For security, please ask delivery people to take off helmet / casco before entering building
6pm-9am - For security, No deliveries in building after 6pm. After 6pm, please get deliveries in Lobby
Noise levels
Open Halls: When leaving apt or elevator, please be quiet as everyone can hear the conversations in the open hallways.
Bedroom #2: If not using, good idea to close windows to prevent noise from going in open atrium.
Phone Calls: Please use headset or speak softly when on calls so not to bother other tenants resting.
Loud Sex: Please shut windows & doors so other tenants don’t have to hear this.
Plants
Please water plants every few days so they don’t die. If you’re not a plant person, please tell us.
Laundry
Colored detergent stains linens. Please fill washer on level 1 to allow soap to mix before adding items
Maid Service
We require renters to keep their apts clean, free of food in dishes & sink to prevent bugs. We recommend maid service every 2 weeks to ensure showers are scrubbed to prevent mold. We offer maid service & prices are in black book. If you choose to use a outside maid, you will be responsible for any stains or extra cleaning if required at checkout. Colombian Law requires maids have medical, social security & paid vacation. People using their maids are responsible for any injuries or claims if they slip & fall.
Bugs
Our Apts normally don’t have bugs or flies as we fumigate regularly. If you see flies or bugs in your apt, most likely is it from food left in dishes, sink drain or in trashcan. We recommend saving vegetable bags at market to put raw food in & tie in knot before putting in trashcan. We recommend storing wet mops & rags on balcony to dry before putting in cabinet.
Long term tenants can stay as long as you like. We require 30 days’ notice when you decide to depart. Less than 30 days’ may result in forfeit of deposit unless we can rent the apt for same dates.
